Last weekend, I had a rare opportunity to hang out with my friend Liz for a bit – she’s so busy with school! We decided to go to breakfast at a new place around town called Keke’s Breakfast Café and then to go see the new movie “Gravity” with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

Friday night Ryan and I went to this little hole-in-the-wall place called "Rolli's Pork Loin" that serves pork sandwiches. Ryan has been wanting us to go there for a long time and we finally went. It was pretty tasty indeed - basically big greasy sandwiches with lots of barbecue sauce and some sort of other sauce. Yum!
In addition to the wedding coming up, it’s almost Thanksgiving and then Christmas is right around the corner! I realized that by the time we get back from the honeymoon we will be within a day or so of the USPS Christmas mailing deadline so I need to purchase any presents that have to be mailed before the wedding! So far I’m only done shopping for one person and I have quite a few left to do so hopefully I will be able to get some of it figured out during Black Friday shopping. This year we are going to do Thanksgiving dinner at Ryan’s sister Corine’s house. This will be the first year she’s hosted it at her house (at least since Ryan and I have been together) so it should be a fun change. I’m sure her kids will be really excited to have everyone come over to their house too.
I’m sorry I never got around to my movie reviews but I’m so busy that I don’t think it’s going to happen. So here’s the quick recap: ![]() A month ago, I posted that Ryan and I had finished watching all the episodes of Star Trek Voyager and that we were thinking about watching Heroes. Well, thanks to Netflix Ryan and I just finished watching the last episode of the show. I immediately wanted to write a review on my blog but I have been struggling to decide how to do it since so much happened in the plot over the course of 4 seasons. The show was broken into “volumes” and each one has its own contained a plot of its own. Originally I was going to talk about each volume and what happened and what I thought of it but there is just too much that happened for me to describe it all. If you want a rough overview of the show itself, you can check out the link below to the Wikipedia article on it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroes_(TV_series) I had a dinner and movie date with Rachel tonight so you know what that means right? Time for a movie review. Ok who has ever seen the movie "Phonebooth"? You know the one, with Colin Farrell - where he stands in a phonebooth and talks on the phone the whole movie. Well that was a terrible movie and this was nothing like it (I mention it because there are some skeptics who seemed to think this movie would be a repeat of that one). The premise of the movie (as can be seen in the previews) is that an innocent man was framed for stealing a $40 million diamond, escaped from prison, and is now trying to prove his innocence by stealing the diamond (again...to prove he couldn't have stolen it before). However, he is actually on a ledge...at a hotel across the street from where the diamond is. He is attracting plenty of attention from pedestrians, cops and reporters as he stands on the ledge (allegedly to jump off). So what happened? I'm not going to tell you! Go buy a ticket and watch it yourself :) But you can see my review below.
Over Christmas, the Blu-ray trio of Underworld movies was on sale for $38. You got Underworld, Underworld: Evolutions, & Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. AND...a $20 voucher towards going to see the new Underworld: Awakening" when it came out on January 20th (today). So I bought the dvd's and Ryan and I watched them recently, excited about the upcoming release of the newest movie. Tonight we went to see it of course and here's my review:
Sometimes that's all you can do...a little at a time. Tonight i did a little laundry, a little cleaning and a little sewing. And now i'm doing a little watching tv (that hopefully won't turn into a lot of watching tv). I finished the interior pockets for the lining:
