We went to our friend Pete's house to celebrate him getting his master's degree. it was pretty fun, we all hung out and chatted and then eventually we decided to watch a movie. They put on Django Unchained with Jamie Foxx. And it was...well...interesting. I'm not even sure I can give you my opinion on it because the movie was so crazy. To clarify, this movie is directed by Quentin Tarantino so I should have known it would be crazy. If you watch it, be prepared for lots of language, lots of violence and a ridiculous story based in the time of slavery...It does have a pretty impressive cast too with Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L Jackson.
Friday night Ryan and I went to this little hole-in-the-wall place called "Rolli's Pork Loin" that serves pork sandwiches. Ryan has been wanting us to go there for a long time and we finally went. It was pretty tasty indeed - basically big greasy sandwiches with lots of barbecue sauce and some sort of other sauce. Yum! After Rolli's, we went to go see the movie Oblivion with Tom Cruise. If you haven't seen it, I would definitely recommend it. It had a pretty decent plot with a few twists, the graphics and stunts were cool and there was a touch of romance and comedy. Plus, the huge cast!! After my completely lazy Friday, I had quite a few plans for the weekend. Saturday morning, Ryan took the boat out fishing while I did some chores (woohoo). I was going to try to go to an Alpha Phi alumnae gathering in Orlando but honestly I was just too dang tired. And then we were supposed to have a game night at my friend Erin's but we didn't quite make it - by the time we got dinner and such it was time to head out to our friend's graduation party. When I got up Sunday morning, I needed to make a shirt for our friend's daughter Katherine. We were going to her 4th Birthday Party that afternoon and I had promised a birthday shirt (you know I can't help myself). I had already bought the shirt so I just needed to do the embroidery work. I got a cute pattern on Daily Embroidery and put the machine to work. I'd say it came out pretty cute and I definitely need to get these up on my Etsy shop ASAP :) After making the shirt, I ran a few errands and then we headed to Katherine's birthday party. It was fun to see Greg & Jen again and chat about "old times" like when Greg and Ryan were roommates, things at Florida tech, etc. Afterwards, I headed up to Merritt Island for a bridal shower for my friend Shelley. I didn't take any pics because she had someone there taking lots of pictures and I didn't want to be rude. She hasn't posted them yet but as soon as she does, I'll share with you. By the time I got home from the shower it was time for dinner and relaxing and then on to the work week, boo!
