For those who don't know, Ryan and I have one dog and one cat. The dog is my precious not-so-little princess. The cat came with Ryan...they were a packaged deal lol. I affectionately call him "little monster" (I actually call him another name but it wasn't friendly enough to type in my blog lol). Anyways, this cat is the most determined, stubborn cat ever. When he's decided he's going to do something, he is absolutely impossible to stop. And as he's gotten older he no longer likes his litter box. We tried changing litters, adding extra boxes, etc. But for quite a while he just decided he was going to pee on the carpet (particularly in one area). Eventually we couldn't take the smell (doesn't matter how much you try to clean it, after a while the smell is permanent). So we just cut out the carpet, lol.

I'm not quite ready to post about all the things we worked on this weekend. But in the meantime, I figured you guys might like to see how helpful KC and Willow were during the decorating process. LOL. My friend Kayla gave me some burlap that I wanted to use in the kitchen and I cut a few of the bags open so they would lay flat. The selvage or stitched area that I cut off was nice and thick so I figured I would braid it and knot it for Willow - she loves her ropes! For KC, I found a little funny costume someone must have bought for him. I don't remember where it came from but KC is not fond of costumes. LOL he would barely walk around and was acting super crazy when we put it on him. Haha - hope you got a good chuckle out of the animals, I know I sure did!
On Sunday, Ryan took our pup Willow up to his brother’s house in Jacksonville because they are going to watch her for us for a bit. Ryan’s brother Greg and his wife Melissa have three kids (check out her blog Moore Craziness) and they don’t have any pets. They’ve had dogs in the past but they don’t have any now. My oldest niece Aubrey loves dogs and Melissa was saying how excited Aubrey was for Willow to come visit. Well she wasn’t kidding, LOL. Already on Instagram I saw that Aubrey made Willow go to bed with her (even though it was way too early for Willow to want to go to bed)…
For my birthday this year (it was in April), Ryan told me he was going to build the kitchen island I had designed. Around February or March, I sketched up a design of a small cabinet and counter top to put in our kitchen against the window and window ledge. We currently have the trash can and recycling bin there so the space is taken up anyways and the trash bins are rather unsightly. So I drew up some plans for something to conceal the bins, give me a little more storage space, and give me a little more counter room.
I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since I blogged! Time is flying by now! I feel like it was just yesterday that I just wrote but I guess not. Well, what’s been happening over the last two weeks? Hmm…Here’s a little bit now and then I’ll post more over the next day or so (I promise I won’t forget!).
I almost forgot to mention - earlier this weekend, the animals got some new toys too! They were both out of food so I stopped at Petsmart and ended up wandering around and buying more stuff, haha. Willow got a new collar, a dog bed for the living room (usually she sleeps in the cat bed) and a nylabone. I tried to get a pic of the collar but she was too excited about it to sit still.
So, if you read my earlier posts, I mentioned that I got an inquiry on my Etsy site for three shirt/clothing quilts. Well Danielle placed an order for the three quilts! I have done lots of quilts for friends, family, friends of friends, etc but this is my first Etsy order that is from someone who does not know me or anyone I know. I am so excited for the opportunity to work on these quilts and happy that Danielle is trusting me with her precious children's clothing to make her three great quilts! But I do not approve of unfinished projects so before I can start on that order, I need to finish Gwen's high school tshirt quilt. Tonight, I sewed on the borders so now the quilt top is completed and ready for me to layer it with the backing and batting and then quilt it on the machine, yay!!
We finally got our loveseat that we've been waiting on since Christmas. It looks great and is so comfy. I think our guests will love that their seats recline :) Here's Ryan enjoying the new loveseat (we figured we should sit on all the cushions so they wear evenly).
