Thanks to my Aunt Katie, we now have a waffle maker and I have started making waffles on the weekends. I just use the recipe on the bisquick box (plus a little cinnamon) and, in our iron, it makes exactly five waffles which is enough for whoever has Friday off to have a waffle and then each of us to have one waffle Saturday and one Sunday. So far I’ve been making the batter Saturday morning and making two waffles. Then I put the leftover batter and the syrup container in the fridge. Sunday I heat the remaining syrup in my little pourer container and make the rest of the waffles. It works out so perfectly with the batter and the waffle iron is so easy to use and cleanup that it really only takes me about 5 – 10 minutes to make them even including the batter. I know waffles aren’t the healthiest but previously on the weekends we would just go to the gas station and get fountain Cokes and junk food for breakfast. So I’d say the waffles are much better. Maybe I’ll eventually be able to convince Ryan to split a waffle with me and then I’ll add some eggs or something. But for now I sure am enjoying my Weekend Waffles!
