Victoria's Quilt Complete!

8/28/2012

After much frustration, mechanical problems and sleep deprivation...I finished Victoria's quilt just in time to mail it in time for her son's birthday party this weekend.  I'm mailing it priority first thing in the morning so hopefully it gets there on time.  And I hope it's everything she wanted it to be!  Aside from some issues with my quilting machine, I had a really good time working on this quilt - there were numerous challenging blocks where I had to come up with some pretty creative solutions.  I've already posted quite a few pics but here's the last few.

Here's a closeup of the meandering or stipple quilting:

Here's the overall finished quilt with the border and binding complete

Here's a closeup of the orange back (her son's favorite color) and my new woven labels.  The labels came out pretty nice!  And it's just a small 1" x 2" label on the back of the quilt so it's pretty unobtrusive.

Lastly, here's the quilt all folded up and ready to ship out first thing in the morning!

Hooray for another successfully completed project!

Now, I need to finish Emmy's quilt so I can get Danielle's triple quilt order out to her.  I got RJ's quilt done and Danielle's quilt is quilted but needs binding.  Emmy's quilt has been designed and cut but needs interfacing ironed on and then the piecing and quilting.  Hopefully I can finish Emmy's quilt next week and then have a little free time to breathe before I start my next project :)

Here are the other projects I have in my queue to get done whenever I get a chance:
  • Second Tshirt quilt for Gwen
  • Tshirt quilt for my Aunt
  • Tshirt quilt for the Alpha Phi chapter house from donated shirts from alumnae
  • Tshirt quilt for Alpha Phi to auction off at the Red Dress Gala
  • Two handsewn quilt tops that need to be finished for my great aunt
  • Baby gifts for my pregnant friends
