Last week for Scrap Basket Sunday, I sewed all the blocks together and this week my goal was to sew on the borders. Not a lot of work I know but I just got back from a cruise (more on that later) so I knew I wouldn't be up for doing a whole lot.
I pulled out the fabric included with the original kit:
Used my handy dandy rotary cutter (by far my favorite sewing tool) and sliced up the borders and strips to make binding another time.
You'll notice I cut three strips for the border instead of four - for the top and bottom I was able to cut one of the strips in half and use each half for the top/bottom borders.
Last but not least, I sewed on the long side borders and then I had made my weekly goal, yay!
I am a part time quilter, full time engineer and hope to one day become a full time quilter. Feel free to read along as I explore quilting, cooking and anything else that strikes my fancy.
