Sewing Weekend Day 3

3/4/2012

Today was the third and final day of my sewing weekend.  I turned off the alarm this morning instead of getting up right away so when I woke up I thought it was really late...it was 7:30am.  Wahoo!! I can't believe I am starting to wake up before 8am all on my own, I thought it would never happen!  Anyways, I was planning on taking Willow to the dog beach this morning but when I got up it was raining :( So no beach and no run today - poor doggy was so bored today.  I was kind of tired of hand stitching the hexagons for my mom's table runner so I decided to go do a little shopping and errands first.  I drove over to JoAnn's only to find...they didn't open until 10am (and I got there at 9am).  How annoying! I never realized how late stuff opens on Sunday.  So I drove home, put on some British movie with Britney Murphy and sewed until lunch.  After lunch I set back out on my errands.  Or maybe I should say my mass shopping spree!

- First I went to JoAnn's and got supplies for my next craft swap.  I also picked up some replacement sewing needles, new thread (was out of white) and some clearance remnants (probably didn't need these but I couldn't resist).  I ended up buying too much stuff, I spent $60 so I might take a few things back

- Then I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to get a few things to reorganize my kitchen...more on that later...

- I headed to the mall to spend a few gift cards and to look for a dress to wear to Nate and Kayla's wedding.  I'd say I did pretty good.  I used a Gap gift card to get a new pair of jeans and a shirt (total cost after gift card $10).  I bought a cute dress at Charlotte Russe (no gift card, $30) and adorable brown wedges to go with at Payless ($20).  I'm so excited and surprised that I was able to find a dress and shoes.  This is the first time I've ever bought a dress with a belt and the first time I've ever bought a pair of wedge shoes (payless has a ton of cute wedges that are all $15 - $20 right now).  Look out everyone...Ashley's getting fancy, lol

- And finally the most exciting part for me...I bought a PURSE and TWO WALLETS!!  I've never been excited about purses before.  Normally I think they are a pain in the butt and I've never been particularly attached to one before (or found one I "had to have").  I had a $100 gift certificate to Dillard's so I was walking around looking for clothes.  First of all, did you know that every item in Dillard's costs over $50?  Seriously, almost everything is expensive...I was so frustrated.  After walking around in there for what seems like an hour, the only thing I had found that I wanted was one clearance top and one pair of cute pajama shorts.  Right before I was about to give up, I decided to browse through the purse section to see if I could find a new wallet.  Well what I found was AWESOME!  These are perfect for me, not too big but totally cute.  And they are soft leather.  And they perfectly hold exactly what I want.  And I only spent $10 more than what was on my gift card.  This is the first time I've bought a purse that cost more than $15 (usually I go for Target clearance).  I love it so much I wanted to just carry it around even at home, LOL.  Hopefully as I continue to use them throughout the week, I will still think they are as functional and awesome as I do now.

The colors didn't come out great in this pic but the purse is navy and the wallet is a pretty coral.  So obsessed.  And yes they are all Fossil.

Ok that's enough for tonight; sadly I have to go back to work tomorrow.  Although that's probably not a bad thing since I think I had an estrogen overload this weekend...countless chick flicks...lots of sewing...fancy new dress and shoes...purse and wallets...lunch with Liz... Now that I think about it, I don't think I interacted with a single guy while Ryan was gone, lol.  Even the cashier at circle K was a girl.  Whew that's a lot of girl time.  Might be a rude shock when I go to work with all guys tomorrow, haha.
