Sewing Weekend Day 2

3/3/2012

I've done so much focusing on my sewing that I'm seeing stars...oh wait, those aren't stars...they're hexagons.  The table runner I promised my mom for Christmas turned out to be so much more time consuming than I ever expected.  The body of the table runner is made up of hexagons that are made by taking a square of fabric and basting it around a plastic template.  Then the hexagons are hand stitched to each other and the plastic templates can be removed.  I had to cut more plastic templates today so I decided to just baste a bunch today and then stitch them together after.  I did get quite a few basted but I'm now tired of sewing the darn things (and I still have a lot more of them to do, sigh).

I felt like I sewed all day but the pic above is all I accomplished, maybe it will go better tomorrow, we'll see.  Other than tediously hand stitch hexagons...

- I took doggy for another run this morning, she did pretty good but she was still bored most of the day while I was sewing
- I thoroughly cleaned the inside and outside of my car.  I wanted to wax it today but our Oak tree is dropping the pollen blooms so they would have gotten stuck to the wax like crazy as I was applying it.  I guess I'll have to wax it next time
- Liz and I went to Chili's for lunch and hung out which was nice
- This afternoon Brandy stopped by to catch up and to pick up her shoebox swap box from Rachel.  It was good to chat, I will be sad when she moves away for grad school.  Hopefully we can finish her shirt quilt before she goes...I can't stand the thought of an abandoned project
- I had dinner plans with a couple of colleague's from work but they fell through so I heated up one of my OAMC meals and just hung out.  Unfortunately I haven't been feeling too productive since then...in fact I'm considering just going to bed early.  Good thing i'm not single...I would never meet anyone being a homebody like I have been this weekend.
