Secret Vacation Finale - San Francisco

After we got to San Francisco, we went down to Pier 39 and got some dinner.  We were going to to go Fisherman's wharf but we were having trouble finding parking and when we finally found some, it was closer to Pier 39.  The restaurant was about average but it was pretty entertaining because we could watch the sea lions fight over the docks at the pier.

After dinner, I called up one of my best friends who lives in San Francisco to see what they were up to and then we went and met them.  Ashley and Matt were getting ready to do some skydiving practice at the windtunnel and it was pretty fun to watch!  We all went back to their house afterwards and chatted for a while.

On Thursday, Ashley took us for a tour of the city.  First we went to the Google office, which was pretty awesome! They had lounge chairs outside for people to work in and one guy was even chilling in a hot tub.  Next we went to downtown San Francisco.  We rode the cable cars, ate ice cream at Ghirardelli  square, walked up and down Lombard street and just checked everything out.
After our trek through the city, Ryan wanted to go see Muir Woods which is back up by the Golden Gate Bridge.  For anyone who didn't know, this is where they filmed part of the new Planet of the Apes movie.  Although in the movie, they make it look like Muir woods is practically at the other side of the bridge when in reality it is quite a bit farther away.  Anyways, we hiked a bit in Muir woods which also had some more neat redwoods.

There's me, Ryan and Ashley (matt had to work) hanging out on our last evening on the secret vacation.  It took quite a while to get back to Ashley's house since Muir woods is pretty far north and Ashley lives on the south end of the bay.  After we got back we went and got some Thai food at a little hole in the wall place that was really tasty.  Then we just headed back to Ashley's, chatted some more and then all went to bed since we had an early flight.

Overall, the secret vacation was so much fun!  it was sad to have it end but we got to see a ton of really neat places and in an area neither of us had explored together.  It was our first real vacation together and everything went great!  I can't wait for the next one, yay!
