Overall, I'm thankful for another wonderful year with my friends and family and I can't wait to see what exciting things 2014 has in store for us!
I know...I know...the year just barely started and I'm already behind, LOL. Even though I wasn't able to blog over the past week or so, I still wanted to do my 2013 in review post. My sewing goal for 2013 was to complete 20 quilts which was a little too ambitious, LOL. But I did finish 10 quilts plus numerous embroidery projects. I think a more reasonable goal for 2014 would be 12 quilts (one per month). In addition to all my sewing, I had some fun in the kitchen with freezer cooking, my new kitchenaid mixer and ice cream maker and other fun gadgets. I did a lot of work decorating the guest room (although I still need to make the cathedral window quilt, LOL) and the quilt room We went on a fun birthday cruise for Mel's 30th and my family took us on an awesome Alaskan cruise/vacation. Last but not least, Ryan and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary! We've been together for over 7 years but only married for one. We worked really hard this year on paying down our debts and I think by the end of 2014 we'll be in pretty good shape! For others in my family this year was more challenging. My mom was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer and had to have a lumpectomy and radiation. My dad found out a valve in his heart was badly damaged and needed to be repaired and have a pacemaker put in. Neither of my parents are over the age of 50, they don't smoke, they eat healthy and are very physically fit and active. So they were pretty disappointed to have serious health issues already. But we were fortunate in that they are both recovering wonderfully and should be back to full normal activity soon!

Choice of wine in the Anniversary box was excellent! :) Did you two write letters for next year?
