I wanted to complete 12 quilts this year but for some reason I struggled to get as much sewing done as usual. I did complete 9 quilts including 3 tshirt quilts, 5 baby clothes quilts and 1 custom quilt. Plus I did some other smaller projects for gifts and for fun. I did finally get out my bejeweler from the quilt expo and I branched out and tried some new quilting thread until I found one I liked. This year I had many happy (thrilled!) customers but I did have my first customer who wasn't as happy as she expected with her quilt. That hit me hard and I had to learn how to handle that situation, make up for it if I could, apologize for what I couldn't change, and then learn from it and move on. 2015 Goals: Complete 12 quilts or more, finish 2 of the "one-day" quilts and make at least one quilt or project for our home.
This was a huge year for me in terms of fitness. I did an 8-week Bikini Bootcamp and got in the best shape I've ever been in...and then fell off the wagon a bit throughout the rest of the year. I did more races this year than I've ever done in one year and more than the last several years COMBINED. I did a total of 19 different races including (7) 5k's, (1) 8k, (1) 10k, (1) 15k, (1) Half Marathon, (1) Full Marathon, (5) Sprint Triathlons and (1) Olympic Triathlon. Not only did I do a lot of different races, this year was the first time I've ever done a Full Marathon and the first time I've done an Olympic Triathlon. The half marathon wasn't my first half, but it was the first half I ever trained for. I know racing isn't cheap but it sure is fun and it really motivates me to keep training and pushing my limits. 2015 Fitness Goals: Compete in 12 races, get a new Personal Record (PR) in at least one race distance, get back under 130lb and stay there.
This year both Ryan and I got new jobs which was a big change in our household. I got a much shorter commute and a fun/challenging new job. Ryan now works from home again and has a lower stress job which is great. Ryan finally finished my Kitchen Island that he was building for me and he did some extensive roof repairs in the valley over the kitchen. We went on a ski vacation in Breckenridge, CO with some friends and a mini-vacation in Ohio for a wedding (and a triathlon, lol). I'm still volunteering as the Chapter Advisor for Alpha Phi, and I'm learning to balance things better. I no longer feel the need to be over-involved and oversee everything. I can step back and let them succeed or fail, and just make sure they don't fall too hard or go too far down the wrong path. Overall it was a really fantastic year with lots of ups and downs, many new friends and adventures and a lot of working out. I can't wait to see what 2015 brings! Other 2015 Goals: Make more time to read, continue to improve our diet and health, make more of an effort to have date nights and alone time with Ryan, and a hard one for me...stop saying anything negative about myself (let's be positive).
