In my quest to give mostly handmade gifts this year, I wanted to make my dad something on my embroidery machine. I know he has plenty of KU gear but you can really never have too much right? And especially if it is handmade :) So first, I finished up the pocket tee that Beth had started for herself but didn't get to finish (I still need to mail or deliver it to her though).
You can still see some marking on the shirt from where the embroidery hoop was and I'm not quite sure if it's dust/dirt that was on the hoop or if it's just from being stretched and left on the hoop for a couple days. It should come clean though. Next I made a polo shirt for my dad and a zip up hoodie/jacket too. Came out pretty good don't you think?
The two marks on the jacket that look wet are exactly that - wet. I used a washable fabric marker to make sure I got the K and the U heights aligned. Then when you are done you use a sponge or damp cloth to wipe the marker away. I must say the polo looks darn professional. Thanks to that software that Greg got me, I could pick the font for each letter and make them overlap like I did. I can place them whatever way I want in the software, it's so fun! Hopefully dad already got my box in the mail (or doesn't read this post,) - I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise, LOL.
