As part of redecorating the guest bedroom, I decided I wanted to make a quilt to go on the bed. Previously there was a really heavy duvet with a gold and purple cover. It was pretty but it was WAY to hot for Florida - even in the winter that comforter is more than you need. Plus the fabrics were too heavy for that room, it felt like it really weighed the room down. I started doing some pinterest and internet searching for inspiration and I saw this pillow and really liked it! The pattern is called Cathedral Window and I've been wanting to make a Cathedral Window quilt for a while now anyways. When I saw that cute pillow, i started thinking more about doing that for the bedroom. Before I committed to making a whole quilt in this pattern, I figured it would be a good idea to try it out and see if I can make it look good. So I made the sample below (it uses blue instead of purple just because that is the fabric scrap i had near me at the time). It's not perfect but it's not too shabby either, especially for my first attempt. After I was sure that I could make the block look good, I started thinking about all the different layouts and color patterns I could do besides just all purple. So, I need your help deciding on which layout to do before I buy the fabric! Here are my ideas so far, please vote for one or submit a new one! Note: the colors in the below images are not exact - I'll pick whatever fabrics are pretty and match the room best. I just tried to show light versus dark purples. Ok I hope you can vote and help me pick one! I think I'm leaning towards one of the two ombre choices although that picture of the pillow at the top (which would be like the "solid" design option) is so pretty too! Help!
