Anyways, for this second round of bootcamp, I decided I want to also add in some running in the mornings so that I can start getting into the routine of getting up early to workout. So yesterday, I got up at 5am (yuck!), packed up my stuff and headed to Vero Beach. My running partner has tendonitis right now so I was on my own. I was only planning on going for 2 - 3 miles just to warm up and stretch out my sore muscles. But shockingly, I was feeling really good and decided to go farther. Rather than stop at the top of the causeway I kept going all the way to A1A and then back for a total of just under 5miles. I was running a bit late so it was actually getting light out and as I ran back over the causeway I saw a bunch of dolphins. It was SOO nice out. Just when I thought my run couldn't get any better...my armband started pressing the volume button on my phone and making it way too loud. I tried to slide it up a little to turn it back down but the armband was so tight on the phone that once I had pulled it out a little, the pressure on the bottom sent the phone FLYING out of the armband and SMACK onto the asphalt...screen side down. Yep, huge cracks all through the glass of my Galaxy S3 :(
I was rushing to get to Planet Fitness to shower and get to work - i only ended up with about 10mins to shower and get ready and then leave for work. Work itself was pretty average - nothing too exciting. At the end of the work day, i was talking to my boss and then suddenly was running behind a bit. I rushed over to Jungle Club for bootcamp and they had already started jogging for the warmup so I sprinted over to start (never a good way to start: out of breath, forgot my tshirt so I only had a tank on, forgot to take off my rings, etc.). It was a good hard workout and I pushed it as hard as I could. Fortunately we didn't do too much legs since I ran that morning.
Bootcamp ended at 6:30pm and I had to be showered, dressed and on my way by 645 so off I went, sprinting again, to the showers at Jungle Club. I got all cleaned up, grabbed my stuff and got in the car to go to Orlando. It took me 1hr 45mins but there wasn't too much traffic so I got there just in time for our reservation. We have an annual tradition now with two of our friends, Al & Doreen, to go to Texas De Brazil in April for my birthday and their anniversary.
The last two years we went there, I ate so much that I really felt sick the rest of the night and even the next day, LOL. Right now, with bootcamp we have been eating much healthier and I was worried about how much I would eat. I ended up doing pretty well I think. At the salad/side bar, I normally load up a plate with tons of food to sample, plus a big bowl of lobster bisque. This year, I went and got a small portion of my favorite potatoes and one scoop (1/3 or 1/2 bowl) of the lobster bisque and that's it - I only got the things I would feel like I missed out on (the place is expensive too) and I made sure to get much smaller portions. For the meat, I used to try every single type of meat that came by and usually get seconds. Plus I would have some mashed potatoes and fried banana (supposed to cleanse the palate) between each meat which made for a ton of food. This time, I only got the meats I liked the best and I skipped any potatoes or banana in between. I only got seconds of one meat and I made sure to try to stop not long after I got full. I also had water instead of coke. So overall, I'm sure I overate and I'm sure I had too many calories but I bet I had less than half of what I had in previous years.
We had a lovely dinner with Al & Doreen and then we headed home. Left home: 5:15am...got home: 11:30pm. what an exhausting day! High Points: seeing dolphins, bootcamp, and dinner with Al & Doreen. Low points: shattering my phone screen, realizing how weak i still am at bootcamp and all the driving.
I was supposed to be doing all sorts of chores and projects and sewing on my day off...but I was so sore from last week's workout that I didn't do anything on my day off. I just relaxed all day, LOL
