As some of you may know, December 7th was our first wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe it's been an entire year since our wedding! The traditional gifts for the first anniversary are supposed to be "paper". The main gift I got for Ryan/us is that I finally made a Wedding Album for us, yay!!! I'll post a review on the publisher I chose soon but we were both so happy about how it came out! In addition to the album, I thought it might be fun to provide a comedic gift as well. I saw this on Etsy and decided to give it a shot. If you click the pic you can go to the Etsy shop I saw it on and purchase one! I got out a roll of toilet paper, my embroidery hoop and some stabilizer. Then I made an image file to embroider onto it. I decided to hoop just the stabilizer and then use adhesive spray to put the toilet paper on top. Unfortunately, when I started embroidering, the text just wasn't coming out very nicely. I tore it off the roll and tried again but it still wasn't very good. It's most likely either a thread tension or stabilizer issue but I didn't want to spend a ton of time researching it so after a few tries I gave up. It was a nice thought though! Since I couldn't get that "paper" gift to work out, I decided to get Ryan a VW calendar for his desk at work. If you know a volkswagen fanatic, click either of the pics below to check out the Etsy shop and get your own. For me...Ryan got me something I've been wanting for years...tickets for the two of us to go see The Nutcracker! Yay!!! Growing up my mom often took the family to see the nutcracker at Christmas time and I always LOVED that part. I love the story, I love the dancing, I love the costumes. And as a violinist you know I love the music!! I know a ballet probably isn't really Ryan's idea of fun and I'm pretty sure he's never been to one so I hope he finds it at least somewhat enjoyable. The show is in about a week so as soon as we get back you know I'll post a review!!
