Everyone remember that great game we played as a kid, Battleship? Well, I saw this awesome pin on pinterest and knew it HAD to be added for my Halloween party this year! I decided to draw my grid onto a piece of 12" x 12" white cardstock instead of directly onto the pizza box. I just used a pen and ruler to draw a grid - mine is made up of 1.5" x 1.5" squares (just make sure they are big enough for your shot glasses). I wanted mine to be at least slightly spill proof but I was too lazy to take it to get laminated so I just used a little bit of packing tape over the paper so if people drip it won't ruin the grid. Label each row with a letter and each column with a number. I just so happened to have already bought these nice little orange plastic shot glasses. Next decide what ships you want to have in the game. I played around with a few ideas to see what fit on my game board. The traditional grid is 10 x 10 = 100 squares but my grid is only 8 x 8 = 64 squares. Next I made a little sheet with the rules, setup, etc. On the photo I found and on the real game, you have a second grid that is vertical to mark your guesses but since I don't have pegs and holes I would have to either make it a dry erase board or make a new sheet for every game/player. Instead, I instructed the players to mark their guesses on the same board as their shots using M&M's or other candy or markers. I checked and you can still fit/see a small piece of candy in a square that also has a shot glass on it. then you just tape the sheets into an empty pizza box and you're done! A cheap and fun drinking game. I'll let you know if everyone enjoys the game as much as I think they will!
