Happy Halloween everyone! As usual, we had our annual Spooktacular Halloween Party on the last saturday of October (10/25). We were a little concerned that maybe it would be a pretty small party this year since both of us changed jobs and were no longer present at Harris/Piper to talk it up and get everyone out there. But our friends still came out and we had a great night as usual! |
When we started talking about the backdrop, I knew I wanted to have a main prop that people could sit on or stand around, and decorations in the background. We quickly realized we could use our electric chair that Ryan built a few years ago but isn't functioning correctly. I thought of an idea to make it like a jail scene and Ryan helped figure out how to make the prison wall. We ended up getting (2) 4'x8' sheets of 2" thick styrofoam. We used a big t-square to draw lines on the foam to mark the "grout" lines on our prison wall and then I got to work. I have a soldering gun I bought when I made the tombstones and it came in pretty handy again. I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to breathe in the fumes from melting foam so do this at your own risk...I basically just put in a round tip and followed the drawn lines, the hot tip melting the foam as I went.
And now...without further ado...here's a slideshow of the pictures taken in the photobooth by our guests!
Spooktacular 2014 Photobooth Pics
We have a few kinks to work out for next year's party and things we'd like to improve upon. But overall the photobooth worked out really well and people seemed to have fun with it. Next time I'll tell you about the new game we played this year.
