Adrianne's Quilt - Piecing & Applique

4/11/2014

I was doing so good blogging for a couple weeks and now here I am, almost two weeks behind again.  Yikes!  Maybe it's the time of year?  Anyways, last time we talked about Adrianne's quilt, I had just finished cutting and interfacing all the shirts.  Since then, I'd say I've made a bit more progress.

In between all my cooking and bootcamp craziness, I'm still sewing away.  The next quilt on the list is another baby clothes quilt for an Etsy customer Adrianne.  She sent me all her baby clothes and I got started laying everything out.

I think I'm really on a roll this year - I just finished up Maura's quilt!  Gotta keep working though, several more quilts all on order still :)

I am so happy Maura was happy with the quilt - she left me this really nice review on my Etsy shop!

I LOVE it! The quilt is so beautiful! Thank you so much for this wonderful keepsake and making the time to have it done for our son's first birthday party! The quilt coordinates our favorite baby clothes beautifully- the guests all loved it, too! I can't think of a better gift and am excited to pass it down to him in the future. You were a pleasure to work with and the final product is amazing!! Thank you again and I will definitely reach out to you again for future quilts!

Once all the shirts were cut and interfaced, I sewed the hat down on the top right, finished the applique work on a couple of difficult clothing items and added a name block.

Last time I showed you D'Arcey's quilt, it was on the quilt machine ready to be quilted up.  Well, I finished up the quilting, trimmed it up and added the binding.  This quilt came out super cute - I'm so happy with how it came out.
Apparently D'Arcey likes it too, she left me this sweet review on my Etsy Shop...thanks so much for letting me work on your quilt!
My quilt arrived yesterday and it was absolutely beautiful, I could have cried with joy. Ashley is a delight to work with, and the quality is top notch. I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a priceless, one of a kind keepsake

Maura's Quilt - Layout & Cutting

I'm happy to say I've got another baby clothes quilt to work on - all of these orders are coming in from Etsy (not people I know personally) so maybe my name and brand are finally starting to get out there.  I started with a rough layout of the clothes and some discussion back and forth about what Maura wanted the quilt to look like.

Jennifer's Baby Quilt

12/22/2013

Right around thanksgiving time, I was sitting on the couch and I heard this "cha-ching" noise that came from my phone.  What was that??  I forgot that I had downloaded the Etsy app for my phone and I had no idea that when you got an order, it made a cash register noise!  Anyways, Jennifer sent me a bundle of clothes that she wanted made into a quilt for her twins Haden & Kate to share.  First thing I did was unpack all the clothes to see what she had sent and if anything specific was marked.

Cars Weighted Blanket

10/14/2013

Back in July I made a weighted blanket for my nephew Ethan and afterwards, a friend asked if I could make one for her son too.  So we picked out some fun fabric from the movie "Cars" and made one for Blake & Logan.  They're a little smaller than my nephew so both the blanket size and weight were smaller than the one I made for my nephew.  Click here to see the tutorial on how to make one.  I also had some leftover fleece so I made a matching travel pillow too!  Etsy listings coming soon!
