Happy St. Patrick's Day! Unfortunately we weren't able to go downtown for the St. Patrick's day parade or other Irish festivities. But we did hear a guy playing some bagpipes...as we finally did a sea trial of our new boat! Unfortunately I didn't take a lot of pics on the sea trial (except of small things that we need to get the dealer to fix, lol) but here's us saying goodbye to the Bayliner (sorry it's fuzzy but it was too bright out to see my screen when taking the pics).
Al & Doreen came with us on our Sea Trial (and Doreen has more pics to post later) and it went really well. Ryan was very happy with the pick up of the motor, and especially how quiet it was compared to our old boat. I was happy with the wake for wakeboarding and everyone was happy with the general ride and comfort of the boat. So we finalized the purchase and drove it home! As we pulled up to our house, Willow must have heard us because we could hear her start whining right away. I went inside and let her out and she immediately ran down to claim her spot on the new boat - I think she approves, LOL.
So it may not have been a very "green" irish day but we got our shiny new boat and are so excited for all the fun we'll have on it this summer and over the many years to come. Now Ryan wants me to make a custom boat cover for it so I guess I'll be able to put to the test some of the new sewing skills from my recent Sewing expo, LOL. I want to make either a custom fit cover or a console cover. If i do the console cover, I want to arch the name in a circle, half above and half below this awesome Bejeweled anchor from Sue's Sparklers (you iron it on):
Al also got us some captains hats that I promise we will wear and photograph on the boat's true maiden voyage (I'm not counting driving it home). I'm sure I'll have more to post soon about our adventures on the new boat!
