This weekend I did quite a bit of sewing and I got some of the house cleaned up, laundry done and worked on my wedding invitations. I wouldn't say I'm all caught up on everything but I certainly feel MUCH better now! First, I finished stitching the quilt top for Alpha Phi Red Dress Gala. Then I loaded it onto the quilt top and did all the quilting. And guess what? Not a single thread breakage from my quilting machine! I'm really happy about it but also still concerned that I never found out the root cause of the problem. I'm sure it will wait to break until I've got a big deadline coming up, LOL.
Then today (Sunday) I mostly worked on making shirts with my embroidery machine for Halloween :)
I showed you this one already but I decided to add Greyson's name to it so the design would look a little more centered, heehee aren't I tricky? I need to get some more embroidery thread and maybe adjust the tension a little bit because the finishing on the letters in his name isn't quite as good as I'd like it to be.
Next I made a ghost shirt for Greyson. Hopefully it gets cool enough for turtlenecks because, oddly, the only black onesies and shirts I could find were these turtlenecks. No real problems with the stitching here but the letters are a little close to the ghost.
Here's a spiderweb shirt for Addi...isn't it ADORABLE??
Here's Addi's ghost shirt. Unfortunately, while I was clipping the excess fabric, the shirt popped off the hoop and I tried to re-hoop it in the exact same spot but I guess I missed. You can see the entire white outline of the ghost is offset slightly higher than the white fabric, boo (not the halloween kind)!
Here's Aubrey's shirt with her name on it. No real issues with this one. but when I bought it, the shirt had a little pocket on it with a teddy bear, LOL, so I used my handy dandy seam ripper to take the pocket off.
Aubrey's ghost shirt came out pretty cute too. Ghoul's rule!
Emma's spiderweb shirt is just like Addi's - I loved this design so much that I just couldn't resist!
Unfortunately, I had some issues with Emma's ghost shirt. It's not too bad but the machine sucked in part of the fabric when I tried to start stitching words above the ghost and couldn't get it quite fixed. So there is a tiny bit of white thread and a little hole on the top left of the ghost :(
Here's Ethan's name shirt - he got a creepy "E" with an eyeball
Here's a frankenstein shirt for Ethan as well - LOVE this one :)
And lastly, I actually made something for myself. Shocking huh?
Did I mention that I LOVE my new embroidery machine? I might be a little obsessed, haha!
OMG! Ashley! These are amazing! A. M. A. Z. I. N. G.
